3D scanning · Reverse engineering · Reno, NV

Precision 3D scanning for motorsports, aerospace and custom builds.

We capture parts, vehicles and aircraft components as accurate 3D data, then turn it into CAD you can build from. In our Reno shop or on-site, wherever the work is.

Industries

Built for work where fit and accuracy matter

Our team designs race trucks and off-road chassis, so we scan the way engineers and fabricators need the data: complete, accurate and ready to design around.

Motorsports

Scanning and design for race cars, trophy trucks and UTVs, from engineers who design off-road race vehicles.

Aerospace & Aviation

On-site scanning and scan-to-CAD for MRO, legacy parts, cockpit retrofits, tooling and vintage aircraft.

Automotive & Off-Road

Scanning trucks, classics and project cars for custom builds, restomods, restoration and aftermarket parts.

Industrial & Manufacturing

Fixture checks, legacy part reverse engineering, QC scanning and large-object capture for shops and plants.

Services

From scan to solid model

Get just the scan, or have us carry it all the way to manufacturing-ready CAD and inspection.

3D Laser Scanning

Handheld blue-laser and structured-light scanning for small parts, full vehicles and aircraft sections.

3D Scanning Inspection

Scan-to-CAD comparison with color deviation maps to check parts, weldments and fixtures against the design.

On-Site 3D Scanning

Portable handheld scanners brought to your hangar, race shop, factory or airport ramp, anywhere in the US.

How it works

Prep, scan, process, deliver

  1. Prep

Small positioning targets go on the part so the scanner can track it. Shiny, dark or clear surfaces get a sublimating spray that disappears on its own.

  2. Scan

A handheld blue-laser or structured-light scanner sweeps the object without touching it, building an accurate 3D mesh in real time.

  3. Process

We clean and align the data, then extract the planes, holes, cylinders and surfaces your design work depends on.

  4. Deliver

You get a mesh, key-feature CAD or a full SolidWorks model with STEP files, plus inspection reports when you need them.

Three ways to get scanned

Bring it, ship it, or we come to you

  • Drop it off in Reno

Bring your part or vehicle to us. Wait while we scan, or pick it up later. Same-day scanning can often be arranged.

  • Ship it to us

Send parts by FedEx, UPS or USPS. We scan them and ship them straight back. Our prep checklist covers packing.

  • We come to you

Portable scanners travel to your shop, hangar, race team or plant, in Northern Nevada, California or anywhere in the US.

FAQ

Common questions

More answers on the FAQ page.

How accurate is your 3D scanning?

Our handheld blue-laser and structured-light scanners capture detail with accuracy up to 0.03 mm (0.0012 in). On large objects like a full vehicle, overall accuracy depends on size and setup, so we use positioning targets to hold it across the whole object and talk through the tolerance your project needs before we start.

How much does 3D scanning cost?

Price depends on size, shape complexity, surface finish, the deliverable you need and where we scan. Our instant estimate tool gives you a budget range in about two minutes, and we confirm a firm price after reviewing your part.

What can you scan?

Anything from a shift knob to a full vehicle. We have scanned trucks inside and out, tube chassis, a jet engine, an aircraft cockpit, a bus undercarriage and a large metal sculpture.

What files do I get?

Scan data comes as an STL mesh (OBJ or PLY on request). If you need CAD, we model in SolidWorks and deliver STEP, Parasolid (X_T) or IGES files you can machine, laser-cut or edit.

Do you travel for on-site scanning?

Yes. We are based in Reno, Nevada and bring portable scanners to shops, hangars, race teams and factories across Northern Nevada, Northern California and anywhere else in the US.
