Mid-Engine Chevy C10: Body Scan to Custom Chassis CAD
A '67–72 Chevy C10 body was 3D scanned, then a mid-engine, all-wheel-drive chassis was designed in CAD around the real cab, front clip and bed.

June 2023North Phoenix
A late-’50s Dodge pickup body, scanned on a lift above its frame and then used to design a long-travel tube chassis around it. On the same trip: an SUV’s rear wheel wells.

Travel quoted at cost
We fly or drive down with the scanners in hard cases and set up in your shop, hangar or plant. Line up several vehicles or parts and we scan them in one visit, as we did with four vehicles in December 2024.
For some Arizona jobs, a trusted partner technician in the Valley scans to our process and prep checklist. We plan the job, check and process the data, do the CAD and deliver your files.
Parts that fit in a box can ship to our Reno shop and back; you cover shipping both ways. Meshes, CAD and inspection reports come back digitally.
On-site
North Phoenix is where most of our Arizona work has been. We scan anywhere in the metro, from Scottsdale and Mesa to Glendale and Peoria: build shops, fabricators, hangars and plants.
On-site trips anywhere in the state are quoted the same way, travel at cost and up front. Smaller parts can ship to Reno instead.
What we scan
Bodies, cabs and frames of Scouts, Blazers, C10s and vintage pickups, scanned so a new chassis, suspension or interior can be designed around the real thing.
Wheel wells, suspension and drivetrain packaging for long-travel and trophy-truck builds. We design chassis and suspension ourselves, so we know what the CAD needs.
Trim, panels and brackets scanned and modeled in SolidWorks, ready for your next part to fit against.

FAQ
Scanning, processing and CAD are billed at the same rates as in Reno. Travel is added at cost and quoted up front, before you book. In the instant estimate, choose “On-site, anywhere else” to get a range for the work itself.
A partner technician we trust in the Phoenix area, working to our process and prep checklist. Revv Engineering plans the job, checks and processes the data, does the CAD and delivers your files, and you deal with us throughout. We tell you before the job who will be on site.
Yes, and it is often the best time. We scan the body on a lift above the chassis, or each on its own, so the new chassis or suspension can be designed around both. Our Scout II and Dodge pickup jobs in Phoenix were done that way.
A mesh (STL, OBJ or PLY) of what we scanned and, if you need it, SolidWorks CAD exported as STEP, Parasolid or IGES, or an inspection report against your model. Files are delivered digitally.
